Caravaning

Caravans in Hong Kong? Who would have thought! Although you're confined to the caravan park, there are two separate locations - Park Nature's Caravan Park in Kam Tin and JK Club Caravan in Pui O to experience what its like to stay in one of these mobile homes - and the best part is, they're both dog-friendly! Hire a caravan experience for two to four people, and enjoy the facilities such as bike rental (Park Nature) or access to the organic farm (JK Caravan Club). Both offer breakfast and a barbecue package, not to mention the serene countryside to explore.

Car Top Camping

If you're looking for a little more freedom, Camp Kingdom offers a selection of off-road vehicles for roof top camping, starting from $1,799. If you don't have your own gear, you can opt for the Classic Package to include the basics such as sleeping bag and utensils, or select the Luxury Deluxe Package to have all camping equipment and necessities included, so all you need to worry about is showing up. Price varies according to the model of car selected, and a set up fee of $800 can be added for assistance - and of course, a driving license is required. Glamping under the stars

Book a Teepee or Stargazing Dome Tent on a rice field in Pat Heung, for a night under the stars with Nomad Terrace. Tents accommodate between two to four people and you can choose from three designated camping areas; Terraced Glamping, Deluxe Dome Glamping and Deluxe Teepee Glamping. Packages include DIY buffet breakfast with the option to add workshops and barbecue sets at an additional cost. If you are in the mood to explore, the campsite is sandwiched between Lam Tsuen Country Park and the Tai To Yan trail. To learn more about the different packages, click here.

Cabin Lodging

Experience staying in an American-style cabin by the lake with WeCamp in Fung Kat Heung, Yuen Long.

Book one of their air-conditioned wooden cabins for two, starting from $1,800 per night for a stay during the week, or rent their larger cabin to host a party of six to eight people for a day by the lake, surrounded by the green and mountains.

Camping

Let's not forget the good old fashioned camping too! With the weather cooling down in Hong Kong, there's no better time to pack your camping bag and head out to the great outdoors to pitch your tent for a night under the stars with your pup. If you don't own any camping gear, Pak Lap Academy and Ham Tin Bay not only offer food and drink, but also rental facilities for camping gear and water sports equipment.
