About the event

Basalt Island, an island part of the Ung Kong group and known for its beautiful sea arches and crystal clear waters.

A memorial plinth was built on the site to remember the passengers killed on board a commercial plane which crash landed on the island in 1948. One of those passesngers included Quentin Roosevelt II, grandson of Theodore Roosevelt, who was serving as director of the China National Aviation Corporation at the time.

The island has no facilities, so explorers will need to bring everything they need on the island with them.
